Personal Stylist in High Wycombe & Buckinghamshire

Maria Pastor choosing garments from a rail during a personal shopping session

For clients around High Wycombe I come to you: we work at your home, with the clothes you already own. I travel across North, West, South and Central London, Buckinghamshire (High Wycombe and the towns around it, such as Marlow, Beaconsfield, Amersham, Gerrards Cross and Chesham), the Thames Valley (Reading, Henley-on-Thames, Maidenhead and Windsor among them) and Oxford, plus Milton Keynes.

Personal shopping is the other half of what I do, and it happens in store rather than at home: for that we meet in central London, on the streets I shop. That is my London personal shopping day.

The High Wycombe wardrobe edit experience includes:

  • An initial telephone consultation to discuss your requirements.
  • Up to 3 hours together at your home, going through your wardrobe piece by piece.
  • Body shape analysis, and what it means for the clothes you already own.
  • A review of your current clothes and a declutter: what to keep, alter or let go.
  • A shopping list of the items you are missing, and the knowledge to keep using it.

Most wardrobes are not short of clothes; they are short of decisions. By the end of the session you will know why the pieces you never reach for do not work, and you will have seen the ones that do put together in ways you had not tried.

You will also know what is genuinely missing, which is a far shorter list than it feels like before we start. Anything you buy after that is bought on purpose, and it will go with what is already hanging up.

How it works: the at-home styling session

Maria Pastor holding up a garment for a client to consider

It starts with a free chat on the phone. You can tell me what is frustrating you about getting dressed, how your days actually run, what you would like your clothes to do for you, and anything you already know you want to keep.

Then I come to your home, at a time that suits you. We go through the wardrobe together, piece by piece: what fits, what flatters, what has been waiting years for an occasion that never comes. Nothing leaves the house that you are not ready to part with, and anything worth altering goes on its own pile rather than into a bag.

From what you are keeping, we build outfits. You see the combinations on you rather than imagining them, and I explain why each one works for your proportions, your colouring and the life you actually lead, so you can carry on making the same decisions without me.

You are left with a wardrobe you can see, a short shopping list of the gaps that are genuinely worth filling, and the reasons behind both, so the next decision is yours to make.

Where I come to you

For a wardrobe edit I come to you, so the map shows where I travel rather than where we shop. It is centred on the country round High Wycombe, which is the middle of that round rather than the edge of it: Milton Keynes sits beyond the top of the frame, and on a phone Oxford is clipped at one edge and West London runs off the other.

County boundaries are not the limit; distance is. If you are further out than the towns above, ask me anyway and we will work it out between us.

What My Clients Said

Maria was fantastic, she took the time to understand what I was looking for. She challenged me in a constructive way, clearly knows her stuff. She made the whole process very easy and I'm delighted with my new wardrobe

I booked a personal shopping package with Maria as I was preparing to return to work postpartum and felt completely unsure about what suited my body or what my style even was anymore. From the start, Maria was incredibly thoughtful and thorough. Our initial call helped her really understand what I was looking for, and I felt listened to straight away. We then spent a half day shopping in London, and she found some beautiful pieces that work perfectly for everyday wear but can also be dressed up when needed. What I appreciated most was that she encouraged me to try things I would never have picked for myself and they ended up being some of my favourite items. I’m so happy with what I’ve come away with and feel much more confident in my style. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Maria and will absolutely return when I need a refresh. Thank you, Maria!

Thank you Maria for a lovely experience, and your excellent advice on all things menswear. I had a lovely experience. Maria is very knowledgeable and patient. I was taken to a number of shops both high street and some towards the higher end and at no point was there any pressure to buy anything. I was given tips on how to wear and colouring advice that perfectly suits me. I would have no hesitation to thoroughly recommend her.

Maria helped me find 2 dresses, 1 skirt, 1 cardigan, 4 T shirts and 1 jacket in the space of 3 hours! She is so easy to talk to and she understood my worries about my body shape. Not only that, she also showed me how to style my clothes so that I would look even better! She doesn't push her views onto you but simply wants you to be happy with your choice. I felt free to say, "I don't like it" even when Maria thought a piece of clothing suited me. It is rare to find all this in one personal shopper. I highly recommend her. Tammy xx

What to Wear After Having a Baby

A few months after having a baby, a lot of women tell me the same thing: "I open my wardrobe and I just don't know what to wear any more." The old favourites don't sit the way they used to, the things that do fit feel shapeless, and getting dressed has become one more decision on a day already full of them. If that sounds familiar, you are in very good company. Your body has changed, your days have changed, and your clothes haven't caught up yet. That isn't a failing. It's simply a wardrobe that was built for a different life.

What to Wear Going Back to Work After Maternity Leave

Going back to work after maternity leave is a big moment, and for a lot of women the wardrobe is where it suddenly feels real. You open the doors, pull out the trousers you wore before the baby, and nothing sits the way it used to. Or it fits, but it feels like it belongs to someone else. If that's where you are, please hear this first: nothing is wrong with you. Your body and your days have changed, and your clothes simply haven't caught up yet. That's a wardrobe problem, and wardrobe problems can be solved.

Garden Party Outfits: What to Wear This Summer

You've been invited to a garden party this summer, and suddenly your wardrobe feels completely useless. Everything is either too smart, too casual, or that dress you love but have never actually worn anywhere. Sound familiar? Here's the thing: a garden party is one of those occasions that sounds simple but asks a lot. You need to look lovely, stay comfortable on grass for three or four hours, and somehow account for the fact that British weather will do exactly what it wants regardless of what th
